Learn to use CommentSold's Marketing Automation Feature to increase your sales!
CommentSold's Marketing Automation Feature will help you convert "lurkers" into first-time customers as well as help you retain your existing good customers with automated email marketing campaigns. We have also added conversion statistics for each email that help you see the number of recipients who have purchased after receiving one of these messages along with the total sales resulting from those purchases. Keep reading to find out how it works!
To begin, you will go here to customize your campaigns.
We have both one-time campaigns and ongoing campaigns you can choose to use. Let's take a look at one-time campaigns first!
Note: After activating the campaigns, the system can take up to 24 hours before it starts sending emails on your behalf.
First up is Welcome New Customers. This campaign is intended to introduce your new customers to their account page as well as encourage their first purchase! It is sent one time to each new customer when she signs up!
If you want to personalize your message, you can click Edit Campaign to change the email that is sent. The default message is:
We're so glad you're here.
You can visit your Account Page anytime to view your cart, shop, and manage your account.

But I changed mine up just a bit:
If you want to see what the email will look like when sent to your customer, simply send a test email to yourself!
Next up is Thank First-Time Purchasers. This campaign will send an email to a customer when she makes her first purchase.
As with all of the campaigns, you can click Edit Campaign to personalize the message that you send to your customers as well as send a test to yourself.
The last one-time campaign is First Purchase Discount. This campaign allows you to offer a discount of any percentage to drive your lurkers into making their first purchase! It will send 7 days after a customer registers with you if they have not made a purchase. The default percentage is set at 40%, but you can change this to any percentage you like by clicking Edit Campaign.
Note: The coupon code will be unique for the customer and is not called FIRST40. That code is just for the test email! The customer will receive their own individual coupon code which will have the word FIRST in it. For example, 164FIRST.
Now that you know all about our one-time campaigns to drive that first purchase, let's look at ongoing campaigns!
First up is Abandoned Cart Recovery. Your customer will receive a series of emails if she leaves items in her cart!
This campaign is not editable, but you can still send yourself a test email when you click Edit Campaign!
The first in the series of emails sent will remind your customer that she added an item to her cart.
The next email will remind your customer to check out before time expires.
The final email will be sent when the item expires.
Finally, we have Win Back Inactive Customers. This campaign allows you to offer a discount of any percentage to re-engage past customers! It will send when a customer has not made a purchase in the last 30 days. The default percentage is set at 20%, but you can change this to any percentage you like by clicking Edit Campaign.
Note: The coupon code will be unique for the customer and is not called TWENTY. That code is just for the test email! The customer will receive their own individual coupon code with the word SAVE in it. For example, 164SAVE.
