CS Webstore™: Basics

This article is meant as a resource for the Classic Webstore, an older version of the online store that CommentSold provides you with. If you’re interested in using the new and improved version, click here to view resources for the New Webstore.

This article is going to give you a brief overview of all of the different ways you can customize your CS Webstore™, as well as some links to more in-depth information on each of the different categories. Are you ready?!

First things first, let’s enable your Webstore! On the Setup tab, under Shop, click the button that says Enable Webstore.

Now that your webstore is enabled, you’ll see a link to it! It adds /store to the end of your shop address.

Now, I am going to tell you a little bit about all of the different ways you can customize your webstore. You will access all of these through your CommentSold™ dashboard by clicking on Online Store.

The first tab you will see is Pages.

These will be all the pages for your webstore that contain any info outside of the products you're selling. We've started with some default ones for you, but you can add and delete as many as you like.

The next tab we are going to look at is Collections.

Collections are a way to group your like items together. You can categorize by type (shoes, shirts, rompers, etc.), by brand, by season, or even by specific brand! It is truly up to you how you would like to organize your store to make it your own!

Our next tab is Preferences.

Ahhh, this is the easy stuff! In your preferences tab you'll be setting up your logo, contact information, social media links, and your title + meta description! The title and meta description will help define how your store shows up on search engines. In order to have your shop visible on search engines, you'll need your Google Analytics to be embedded here.

Next, we will take a look at the Navigation tab.

Once you've created your pages and collections, you can begin placing them appropriately using your navigation tab! You may want to put your most popular collections under your main menu so they will be listed at the top, which other pages can be placed along the bottom under "Help" or "Links. You can add pages or collection links wherever you'd like!

Our next tab is the Banners tab.

Now we're onto the fun part! Set as many banners as you'd like, with images and links to collections or pages related to that image! You can arrange them, change them with new arrivals or sales, and always have them directing customers where you'd like them to go! This is the place to showcase your brand through creative images, or lifestyle shots. This is where you can show your personality, so keep it fun!

Next up is the Adverts tab.

Very similar to your banners, adverts are fixed images that will not rotate. Instead, they will be the place for you to showcase additional collections or pages that you don't want as headliners in your banners.

Finally, the last tab we are going to visit is Email List.

At the bottom of your CS Webstore™, shoppers can register their email with you! Under your email list you'll be provided emails of anyone who's registered and their registration date. This is a great way to stay in touch with your customers and keep them informed about new items, sales, etc.!
Now you that you know how to set up your CS Webstore™, it's time to get to work! You'll have your customers shopping in no time!
