Help your customers see all of your Facebook group activity by training them in how to change their notification settings.
Facebook has made changes in the past couple of years that significantly limit the reach of groups' notifications by default. However, it is possible for your customers to set their notification preferences to ensure they do not miss updates from your shop!
To view and change notification settings for your group, your customer should first visit their Facebook Settings page. This can be accessed by clicking the dropdown arrow to the top right while on Facebook and selecting "Settings & Privacy" then "Settings."
In the lefthand menu, your customer will see a tab labeled "Notifications." Clicking this will take them to their settings for notifications across all of Facebook.
Here, your customer should click the dropdown arrow next to Groups. They should then locate your group from the list of the groups they are a part of and click to open the notification settings.
We recommend that you encourage your customers to set Notifications on Facebook to "All Posts" to be alerted each time a post is created in your group, and Push Notifications to "Highlights" to receive the most relevant updates. Once they have updated these settings, they can click the "Done" button at the bottom of the popup to save!
In addition to coaching your customers in how to change these settings, you can incentivize them for doing so! One effective way of doing this is by giving away account credit to a customer who comments with a screenshot of their notification settings for your group.
Once you have helped your customers opt in to notifications, be sure to take advantage of their attention by sharing engaging content to your group!
