Using CommentSold with Instagram

Learn how to connect your Instagram account to CommentSold and sell your products through Instagram posts!

In order to connect your Instagram account to CommentSold, it must be a business account that is connected to your Facebook Page. Click here to learn how to set up a business Instagram account, and click here to learn how to connect it to your Facebook Page.

To connect your Instagram account to CommentSold, begin by going here. You will see a list of your Facebook Pages. You might have multiple, like me, but you will want to select the page that is connected to your Instagram account!

 

Note: If you are already connected to Instagram with our old integration, it will not work correctly until you take action. You must reconnect your Facebook here, then follow these instructions!

Once you select the correct Facebook Page, your Instagram account will be connected to CommentSold!

At the bottom of the page, you will see a toggle that allows your customers to log in to their account page via Instagram. You will want to leave that toggle enabled.

What if my customer already has a Facebook account, and she signs up with Instagram?

No problem! Your customer can combine her two accounts right from her account page!

Now that your Instagram account is connected, let's start selling! First, make sure that you have already entered the product you want to sell into CommentSold. Then, simply go to your Instagram app and click the plus sign to add a picture. In the description of your product, you will want to make sure you include all the information your customer needs to purchase (sizes, colors, price, and commenting instructions) as well as the SKU for the item in CommentSold with a hashtag. Since the SKU for my item is "sku124", I typed in #sku124.

As long as you include #sku, your Instagram post with automatically link to CommentSold!

 

Now, let's take a look at purchasing on Instagram from the customer's point of view! When your customer comments sold on your post, she will receive an automatic reply letting her know that the item is in her cart and to click the link in your bio to checkout!

As you can see, we are able to auto-reply to your customers so that they know the status of their comments! You can go here to customize your auto-replies!

Watch this short video to see the customer's point of view when clicking the link in your bio! Note: your customer will need to click "Login with Instagram" to see the item(s) in her cart.

 

That's all there is to it! It's time to start selling on Instagram!
